John Asher, spokesman for Churchill Downs, dies

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – The man known as the face of Churchill Downs has died.

According to WHAS-TV in Louisville, John Asher passed away Monday, apparently while on vacation.

Asher served as spokesperson and vice president of racing communications for the track since 1999.

The 62-year-old was born and raised in Kentucky.

Asher is survived by his wife and three daughters.
