Winchester bank ATM tampering suspects

WINCHESTER, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Winchester police are asking for help finding a second suspect wanted in connection with an ATM tampering investigation and police chase over the weekend.

According to police, the man was caught on camera after officers responded to a bank alarm reporting an ATM had been tampered with. When officers tried to stop the car he was riding in after a second alarm early Sunday, the driver — identified as 24-year-old Xavier Betancourt — refused to stop, leading police on a chase.

Officers say both suspects ran from the car after Betancourt crashed through a fence near Thoroughbred Plaza. Betancourt was arrested shortly after, but the second suspect got away.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Winchester police.
