La Familia Scrapes by War Ready to Advance to the TBT Round of 16
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW)- La Familia got all they could handle Sunday Afternoon against War Ready in round 2 of TBT. The game was tied at 76 with both teams missing multiple looks to win the game by reaching the target score of 79. Archie Goodwin eventually made some big plays on both sides of the ball to score at the rim twice to give La Familia the win. The Kentucky Alumni squad was able to fend off the Auburn Alumni squad 80-76.
Goodwin led all scorers for La Familia in Sunday’s game with 16 points while also having 4 rebounds and 6 assists as well as a huge steal near the end in a tie game when trying to reach the target score. Doron Lamb and Kerem Kanter were once again really good for La Familia as they each scored in double figures. Kahlil Whitney was also phenomenal in the game as he scored in double figures once again and had the steal and assist to Goodwin to win the game.
La Familia will now advance to the Round of 16 in what could be their last game in Lexington. They will advance to play Eberlein Drive at 6 P.M. on Tuesday Evening from Historic Memorial Coliseum.
