Firefighters extinguish overnight car fire

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — Firefighters say they responded to an early morning car fire on Waverly Drive.

According to firefighters, they were called to Waverly Drive just before 2:30 Monday morning about a car on fire in someone’s driveway.

They say the fire burned the passenger side seats of the car, but did not spread to nearby buildings, which firefighters say were less than five feet away on either side.

Firefighters say they got the fire out quickly, but they are still investigating the cause.
