ORIGINAL STORY:

LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Anderson County Emergency Management is urging residents near the old YKK plant on Industry Road to evacuate due to a gas leak.

In a social media alert Friday, officials said anyone living within a quarter-mile of the plant should leave the area until further notice.

Emergency crews are on scene, and the public is asked to stay clear until an all-clear is issued.

Officials tell ABC 36 News Now they received a report of a strike on an “unmarked” gas line.

The Lawrenceburg Fire Department says the leak is a “decent” size, and it’s unclear how long they will need to be on the scene.

We were also told there are no reports of injuries.
