Richmond Road Baptist Church prepares to honor pastor’s wife and daughter killed in shooting rampage

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Members of Richmond Road Baptist Church in Lexington are preparing to say a final goodbye to the pastor’s wife and her daughter, who were killed in last Sunday’s deadly shooting rampage.

According to their obituaries, a joint funeral service for 72-year-old Beverly Gumm and her daughter, 34-year-old Christina Combs, will be held Saturday at the church. Visitation is scheduled from noon to 2 p.m., followed by the funeral. The service is for family and friends. Both women will be buried at Pilot Knob Cemetery in Berea.

Family members say Beverly’s husband, Pastor Jerry Gumm, and Christina’s husband, Randy Combs, remain hospitalized at UK Hospital recovering from multiple gunshot wounds.

As previously reported, the suspect, 47-year-old Guy House, was shot and killed by officers outside the church. Investigators say the rampage began when House allegedly shot Kentucky State Police Trooper Jude Remilien near Blue Grass Airport. KSP says the trooper is also recovering from his injuries.
