Five departments battle fire in Breathitt County

BREATHITT COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Five fire departments from Perry and Breathitt counties battled a fire Friday night that destroyed a two-story structure, according to a Facebook post by the Grapevine-Chavies Volunteer Fire Department.

Firefighters say the call came in just before 7:00 p.m. for a fire on Highway 1110.

Investigators say no one was hurt, but the building was destroyed.

The Grapevine-Chavies Volunteer Fire Department, Watts-Caney Volunteer Fire Department, Wolf Coal Volunteer Fire Department, Quicksand Volunteer Fire Department and Community of Canoe Volunteer Fire Department all responded to the scene to fight the fire.
