Maddyn Greenway joins FIBA World Cup U19 roster

LEXINGTON, Ky (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – The highest rated commit for Kentucky Women’s Basketball in the class of 2026 is going to represent Team USA this summer. Maddyn Greenway, the #8 overall recruit in the class according to 247Sports, will be a replacement for the USA Women’s Basketball U19 FIBA World Cup team. She joined Team USA earlier today at their training camp in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Greenway will be replacing University of Florida guard Alivia McGill, who is no longer able to compete. Greenway will be joining Team USA in the 2025 FIBA Women’s World Cup, which takes place in Brno, Czechia from July 12th through July 20th.  Team USA will be included in Group A alongside Israel, Hungary, and Korea. The future wildcat and Team USA will start their journey for the World Cup on the opening day against Korea at 2:15 P.M.
