Amari Williams drafted No. 46 overall in the 2025 NBA Draft

BROOKLYN, Ny. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – Amari Williams became the second Kentucky Wildcat selected in the 2025 NBA Draft. He was drafted No. 46 overall to the Orlando Magic on Thursday night before his draft rights were later traded to the Boston Celtics.

Williams was a standout for the wildcats last season, becoming just the fourth player in program history to record a triple-double. The 7-footer showcased his versatility on both ends of the floor, averaging 10.9 points, a team-high 8.5 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game.

He also shot a career-best 56.1% from the field and set a unique program milestone—becoming the all-time leader in assists by a 7-footer at Kentucky, finishing with 115 on the season.
