Lexington Pride Festival happening this weekend
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Organizers are getting ready for this weekend’s Lexington Pride Festival, set to take place Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. along Oliver Lewis Way, stretching from South Broadway to High Street.
The annual event celebrates and raises awareness for the city’s LGBTQ+ community through live entertainment, guest speakers, food and drink vendors, and community engagement.
For the first time, the festival will include a parade, which kicks off at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of High Street and Oliver Lewis Way.
Officials say they’re expecting a large crowd and encourage attendees to arrive early and plan for traffic closures in the area.
