Puppy rescued from partially frozen creek in Scott County
SCOTT COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A puppy found wrapped in trash bags was pulled from a Scott County creek Tuesday after being spotted by two men.
“It makes you angry. It’s disgusting. There’s no reason to discard an animal in the creek like that. Tossed in a bag filled with rocks, that’s no way to go,” said Animal Control Officer Nathan Mullikin.
The Scott County Animal Shelter says someone put the puppy in a trash bag, placed that bag inside another bag with three large rocks, then dumped it into a creek in Sadieville.
The shelter says the puppy managed to wiggle her head out of the bags.
Two men were passing by and saw her. One waded into the creek and rescued the puppy.
They brought the puppy, believed to be an Australian Shepherd or Border Collie, to the shelter.
The shelter is asking anyone with information on this to call them at (502) 863-7897.
