Walking For Warmth

LEXINGTON, KY: A local man is walking out in the cold to Morehead and back to Lexington to raise money to buy coats for kids.

Devine Carama is a believer in Christ and he says God called him to take this journey and so it only made sense that he leave from his church with his friends and family sending him off.

He is doing this coat drive with his non-profit Believing In Forever.

They collect coats for infants to teens and this year there’s a need for 3,000 coats. That’s about 100 more than last year.

“Just get engaged and get involved and just serve those less fortunate than ourselves,” said Devine Carama.

They’ve collected about half but there’s still 1,500 coats to go.

“Even if we don’t reach our goal of 3,000, we’re still going to service hundreds in Kentucky and will hopefully inspire people to get engaged,” said Carama.

Devine’s wife says that she’s nervous for him to go on this journey, but she believes he’s doing it for the greater good.

“I did get to tell him face to face just how proud I am of him because everybody couldn’t just do this and it’s just inspired me,” said Cierra Spaulding.

If you’d like to help, you can drop off donations during business hours or send checks.
