UK releases parking permit enforcement dates
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Students will not need a permit to park in some spaces at the University of Kentucky campus but that won’t last long.
Beginning Saturday, August 11, through Tuesday, August 21, parking permits will not be required to park in the Red and Blue student periphery (K) lots, adjacent to Kroger Field, and the remote (X and R19) parking areas located at Greg Page and Shawneetown Apartments.
Students, parents and other visitors will be able to park in these lots without displaying a valid UK parking permit during this period.
The university says that is to provide time for students to purchase parking permits prior to the start of the fall semester.
But beginning on the first day of classes, Wednesday, August 22, all university lots return to normal permit control and all vehicles must be parked in their assigned areas and properly displaying the appropriate valid UK parking permit.
