Man arrested after stabbing on Anniston Drive leaves one critically injured

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — A man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing that left one person critically injured and another with minor wounds on Friday morning in Lexington.

According to police, officers were dispatched around 9 a.m. to the Mini Mart in the 1400 block of Anniston Drive for a reported assault involving a weapon. When they arrived, officers learned a disorder had occurred, and one person had been stabbed.

The suspect, identified as 26-year-old Xavieer Nicholson, left the scene but was located shortly after. Police say one victim was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. A second victim sustained minor injuries.

Nicholson has been charged with one count of assault in the first degree and one count of assault in the second degree. He is being held at the Fayette County Detention Center.
