Transformative Travels: Exploring Kentucky

Ten University of Kentucky students explore communities in western Kentucky in a six-episode travel show produced for Kentucky Educational Television (KET), Kentucky’s PBS affiliate. They learn about how travel affects communities and how travel affects themselves!  You will learn how travel can change the way people view themselves and the world around them. You will see how travel can be a source of challenge and inspiration as the travelers learn about communities, cultures, and characters in Kentucky.

The group of explorers is led by Dr. Jason Swanson, a professor of tourism at UK. Emmy Award winner, Doug High – a Lexington based filmmaker, is the show’s Executive Producer.  Organizations that provided support for the television program include the UK College of Agriculture, Food & Environment, Kentucky Department of Agriculture, Kentucky State Parks, the Bowling Green Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Paducah Convention and Visitors Bureau, Ariat Brand Shop-Lexington, and the Kentucky Film Office.
