Man arrested after leading police on chase in Laurel County
LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — A Laurel County man is facing multiple charges after allegedly leading deputies on a dangerous chase Saturday night.
According to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, deputies attempted to pull over 33-year-old Lyle Hammons on the Hal Rogers Parkway for allegedly weaving in and out of traffic and driving without headlights. Hammons refused to stop, triggering a pursuit.
During the chase, deputies say Hammons nearly hit a police cruiser before eventually stopping at the intersection of U.S. 25 in London. He was arrested at the scene without further incident.
Hammons remains in custody as investigators work to finalize charges.
