Journalism to run in Belmont Stakes

SARATOGA SPRINGS, Ny. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – Trainer Michael McCarthy confirmed Sunday that Journalism, winner of the 2025 Preakness Stakes, will run in Saturday’s Belmont Stakes with Umberto Rispolli aboard once again.

The race will be a thrilling rematch between Kentucky Derby winner Sovereignty and runner-up Journalism.

Journalism will be the only horse to compete in all three Triple Crown races this year. While the Triple Crown is off the table, he’ll aim to become the first horse since Afleet Alex in 2005 to win both the Preakness and Belmont without winning the Kentucky Derby.
