Laurel County teens found safe in Clay City

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — A man has been arrested after two missing teenagers from Laurel County were found safe in neighboring Clay County.

According to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, 16-year-old Alexis Gilbert and Cassidy Longworth were located unharmed and are now being returned to their homes in Laurel County.

Deputies say Lloyd Idhe was taken into custody and charged with custodial interference. He allegedly picked up the girls and took them to Clay County without proper consent.

Authorities have not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding their disappearance, but confirmed the investigation is ongoing.
