Celebrate the Holidays at Woodford Reserve Distillery
VERSAILLES, Ky. (WTVQ)- Looking for a special Kentucky way to celebrate the holidays? Woodford Reserve is offering a series of holiday lunches and special tours of the National Historic Landmark distillery.
Guests can choose between a distillery tour plus the lunch experience, or solely the lunch experience with a special bourbon tasting. A cash bar (accepting cash and credit cards) will be available and feature a special Woodford Reserve holiday cocktail. Reservations are required.
The Holiday lunches and tours are $60 (or just the lunch for $45). They are offered each Friday and Saturday through the end of December.
There is also a special holiday dinner on December 15. Chef-in-residence Ouita Michel has created a festive holiday menu. Cost is $100 and includes a tour of the distillery and paired cocktails.
Holiday Lunch Menu
New for the Holiday season 2018, each course will be served as a plated selection, three courses served.
Salad: Artisan greens dressed with sorghum vinaigrette, goat cheese, roasted butternut squash, shaved red onion and house candied pecans
Entree: Airline chicken breast with a rich Double Oaked cherry compote, served with smashed new potatoes and haricot vert tossed in herb butter
Dessert: Holiday Flavor Wheel Cake. Layers of malted-milk chocolate cake, sorghum buttercream, dried cranberries, apricots and a dark chocolate glaze, sprinkled with roasted hazelnut, candied orange and crystallized ginger
Dec. 15 Holiday Dinner
First Course: Maggie’s massaged kale salad, roasted apple, toasted pecans, crumbled Benton’s bacon, Kenny’s reserve cheddar, shaved red onion, and maple cider vinaigrette
Second Course: Butternut squash bisque, Double Oaked creme fraiche, baby croutons, chervil
Entree: Carved Prime Rib of Beef with Woodford Reserve’s famous Distillers green peppercorn demi-glace, Smashed new potatoes with herbed butter, Haricots vert almondine
Dessert: Midway Bakery Double Oaked soaked chocolate cake, with bourbon macerated berries and fresh whipped cream
