Suspects in daycare abuse case due in court
RICHMOND, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — Several suspects connected to the ongoing child abuse investigation at a Richmond daycare are scheduled to appear in court Tuesday in Madison County.
According to police, Jessica Houck, Theo Hersey, and Brooklyn Houk are facing charges including child abuse, failure to report abuse, and obstruction. Additional daycare employees—Khrystian Greer, Amaris Hamilton, and Elizabeth Thomas—are also due in court.
The charges stem from an investigation at A Step Ahead Child Care, also known as The Kids Club of Richmond. Police say the arrests were made in April.
Last week, a Madison County father filed a civil lawsuit against the daycare and six of its employees, claiming his three children were grabbed, hit, denied food, and placed in dangerous situations between March and April of this year.
The investigation remains ongoing. Stay with ABC 36 News Now for updates.
