Lexington Police investigating deadly shooting on Newtown Pike
UPDATE: The Fayette County Coroner identified the victim as 24-year-old Elmer Joseph Eldridge of Lexington.
The coroner says Eldrige died from gunshot wounds he received in the morning shooting. Right now, the exact number of injuries to Eldridge is not being released.
An autopsy is scheduled for Saturday at the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — Police in Lexington are investigating a homicide after a man was shot early Friday morning on Newtown Pike.
According to the Lexington Police Department, officers were called to a home in the 300 block of Newtown Pike around 5:50 a.m. When they arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was rushed to a local hospital but later died from his injuries.
Police say all parties involved have been identified, and the department’s Personal Crimes Unit is continuing the investigation.
