Detroit woman faces thirty years for drug trafficking in Lexington
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — A Detroit woman has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for her role in a major drug trafficking operation in Lexington.
According to federal prosecutors, 36-year-old Chanel Logan was sentenced to 360 months for conspiring to distribute methamphetamine and fentanyl. Investigators say Logan and a co-defendant sold large quantities of the drugs to undercover agents and then returned to Detroit to restock.
Authorities ultimately seized more than 11 kilograms of meth and nearly a kilogram of fentanyl during the investigation.
Logan’s co-defendant received a sentence of more than seven years.
The case is part of ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in central Kentucky.
