Florida transfer Denzel Aberdeen commits to Kentucky

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – Kentucky made a major addition to its roster by landing a national champion on Monday afternoon.

Former Florida guard Denzel Aberdeen, who played a key role in the Gators’ championship run, averaged 7.7 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.4 assists across 39 appearances this past season.

During Florida’s NCAA Tournament, he contributed 36 points, 11 rebounds, and two assists over six games. In the national title game against Houston, he chipped in 7 points and 2 rebounds, helping Florida secure the championship.

He becomes Kentucky’s fifth addition from the transfer portal this offseason, joining Pitt point guard Jaland Lowe, Tulane small forward Kam Williams, Alabama power forward Mouhamed Dioubate, and Arizona State center Jayden Quaintance.
