KSP investigating disappearance of 16-year-old Whitley County girl

CORBIN, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — Kentucky State Police is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing teenager from Whitley County.
According to a release from KSP, 16-year-old Layla C. Wells of Corbin was last seen around 10 p.m. Wednesday, walking away from her home. A family member reported seeing her leave, and police were contacted about her disappearance the following day.
Layla is described as approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 130 pounds, with shoulder-length hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a purple hoodie, black sweatpants, and black Nike slides with a red swoosh. She was also carrying a small white purse with a gold chain strap.
