Police investigate gunshots and stolen vehicle near Leestown Rd

Lexington officers used Flock camera alert to track suspect who ran from the scene

LEXINGTON , Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — Lexington police are investigating after an overnight incident involving gunfire and a stolen vehicle Tuesday.

Officers say they got an alert from a flock camera shortly after midnight indicating a stolen vehicle was near Leestown Road.

While investigating, officers reportedly heard gunshots coming from the Cambridge Drive area. Investigators say they eventually caught and detained a suspect who had allegedly gotten out of the stolen vehicle and ran on Alexandria Drive.

The investigation is still ongoing.
