Suspect charged in deadly Georgetown shooting set to appear in court Tuesday
GEORGETOWN, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — A man charged in connection with a deadly shooting in Georgetown is expected to appear in court Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Scott County Detention Center, 20-year-old Zekial Hofstetter was arrested early Saturday and is facing charges of reckless homicide and drug-related offenses.
Hofstetter is accused in the shooting death of 22-year-old Christian Best, a Georgetown resident.
As previously reported by ABC 36 News, Georgetown Police officers were called late Friday night to the intersection of Thorndale Drive and Paris Pike, where they found a man shot to death inside a vehicle. The Scott County Coroner later identified the victim as Best and investigators said Hofstetter was allegedly a passenger in the same car at the time of the shooting.
Hofstetter is scheduled for a court appearance Tuesday at 1 p.m. The investigation remains ongoing. Stay with ABC 36 News Now for updates on this case.
