UK Softball beats Louisville, 8-3 away from home
Thanks to five runs in the seventh inning
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW)- Kentucky softball never led until the top of the seventh inning versus Louisville on Wednesday, but UK still pulled of the win.
Peyton Plotts had set up the go-ahead scores with a bases loaded walk to tie the game in the top of the fifth inning, 3-3.
Then, with the bases loaded again in the top of the seventh, Hallie Mitchell was hit by a pitch for force the go-ahead 4-3 score home. Maddy Clark then singled to move the Wildcats around the bases for a 5-3 score.
Emory Donaldson’s three-RBI triple put the cherry on top of the comeback for an 8-3 win.
Head Coach Rachel Lawson’s team snaps a four game losing run with the win. UK moves to 22-15 overall.
