Primate Center Takes In Four New Monkeys

Four monkeys who needed a new home now have one in Nicholasville.
The Primate Rescue Center took in the animals.
April Truitt, the center’s executive director, said the Las Vegas Zoo has been going through some problems and the Department of Agriculture took over.
It asked other zoos and animal rescue centers throughout the country to take the animals.
Workers from the Primate Rescue Center drove out to Las Vegas and picked up four barbary macaques.
The four newcomers are in quarantine and have some health problems, according to Truitt.
The center wants to raise $60,000 to build a new enclosure so the primates can stay there permanently.
