Lexington Police power traffic lights with inverters

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Lexington police officers were out at intersections still without power Saturday afternoon.

They were powering traffic inverters with their cruisers to keep the traffic lights going.

The department says one officer spent the first five hours of his shift directing traffic the old fashioned way to save the inverter’s battery.

If an intersection is still dark, remember to treat it as a four way stop.
