Beam setting operations scheduled for Newtown Pike Bridge
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – This advisory serves as an update for work toward the New Circle Road/KY 4 widening project in Lexington.
The construction includes Georgetown Road to Boardwalk Avenue.
In addition, the interchange is being reconstructed at Newtown Pike. The anticipated completion date for the project is December 31, 2020.
Beam setting operations are scheduled for the Newtown Pike Bridge:
Monday, November 19
7 p.m.
- left/fast lane closures will be in effect for the Inner and Outer Loop of New Circle Road/KY 4
o this location is between Georgetown Road (milepoint 8.732) and the Lexmark Bridge (milepoint 9.564)
9 p.m.
- north and southbound Newtown Pike (milepoint 1.300 to milepoint 1.891) will be closed
o traffic will be diverted to New Circle Road/KY 4
- the Outer Loop of New Circle Road/KY 4 will be closed
o traffic will be diverted up and over Newtown Pike
- the loop ramp from the Inner Loop of New Circle Road/KY 4 to northbound Newtown Pike will be closed
o this is necessary to allow for a staging area to unload beams from the truck
LFUCG law enforcement will be assisting with traffic control.
All work is scheduled on a tentative basis and is subject to change depending on weather conditions, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
