Morehead State women’s basketball appoints Ashton Feldhaus as new Head Coach
MOREHEAD, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – Morehead State women’s basketball announced Ashton Feldhaus as their new Head Coach on Monday afternoon.
Feldhaus is a native of Richmond, Ky., and will serve as the 13th head coach in MSU program history. As well as being from the bluegrass, Feldhaus has many connections to the commonwealth of Kentucky.
Her father, Allen, was a standout at Eastern Kentucky and is currently the head boys’ basketball coach at Madison Central High School. Her uncle Deron was a notable player at the University of Kentucky, while her uncle Willie was a member of the Morehead State men’s basketball program from 1984-85 through 1986-87. Additionally, Feldhaus’ mother Karen is the head cheerleading coach at Madison Central.
Feldhaus comes to MSU from Missouri Western, where she spent one year as the program’s head coach. In her first and only year with the griffons, the team was 20-10 overall.
Prior to her time at Missouri Western, she served five seasons as the top assistant and associate head coach for Eckerd College.
