Woman charged in Anderson County manslaughter case identified

LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. (WTVQ) – ABC 36 now knows the name of the teenager charged with manslaughter in connection to a deadly crash in Anderson County back in May of 2018 in which her passenger, 17-year-old Sydney Peffer, was killed.

ABC 36 didn’t know her name because of her age. She was 17 at the time of the accident, but now she’s 18. Her name, Brianna Watson, was made public for the first time in court.

Her arrest citation says she hit a culvert and flipped her car, ejecting Peffer. Police say the blood sample shows that Watson was under the influence of alcohol and marijuana at the time of the crash.

She has pleaded not guilty. She remains under house arrest.
