UPDATE: Murder victim identified; younger brother charged

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- We now know the name of the man who police believe was shot and killed by his brother Thursday morning.

The coroner says 28-year-old Jaymes Coffey died from a gunshot wound.

Police say this death is being investigated as a homicide.

UPDATE: (11/15/18, 3:13 p.m.)

Lexington Police say the brother of a murder victim has been arrested.

Police say 26-year-old Timothy Coffey got into a fight with his older brother on Thursday morning and shot him.

A witness saw Coffey take off from the scene in a vehicle, according to police.

Officers located him later on Pierson Drive.

Coffey is charged with murder.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police are investigating a death in Lexington Thursday morning as a homicide.

Lexington police were called to the 900 block of Krissy Way just before 9 a.m. to reports of gunshots.

Police say they arrived and found a man dead.

According to police, they do have a suspect in custody.

The name of the victim and the suspect have not been released.
