Injury collision closes KY55 in Cane Valley

CANE VALLEY, Ky. (WTVQ)- State Police say everyone is okay after an injury collision involving a semi-truck happened on KY 55 at Cane Valley Mill Road Monday just after noon.

Investigators say 210year-old Aaron Rickey was driving a 2018 GMC box truck when his truck malfunctioned and caused him to enter the path of a 2019 Peterbilt being driven by 32-year-old Mitchell Hughes.

They say Richey’s truck hit the side of the semi causing Richey to run off the road then hitting the guardrail.

Officials say the road was closed for around 3 hours for cleanup.

Investigators say Richey and Hughes were both wearing a seat belt. Richey was not injured and Hughes was treated and released at the scene.
