Whitley County man charged after allegedly threatening school staff

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A Whitley County man is behind bars after allegedly making threats toward staff at Whitley County Middle School, including a pregnant teacher and her unborn child.

According to his arrest citation, Allen Bell allegedly told school staff, “It’s about to get bad!” before making additional threats. Authorities say his statements led to immediate concern for the safety of students and staff at the school.

Bell has been charged with terroristic threatening. He pleaded not guilty last week, and his bond has been set at $25,000 cash. He is scheduled to return to court Monday for a preliminary hearing.

Officials have not released further details on the incident, but the investigation remains ongoing.
