Air Fest- Tickets
Lyssa: hey guys, we are at the Georgetown, Scott County Airport, here for the Air Fest. And I am here with Mr. Martin Thomas and with Mr. Matt Bunch. Welcome to the show guys.
Martin Thomas: oh, glad to have you here.
Lyssa: well, we’re glad to be here. You guys have the air fest coming up, how fun is that? What can people expect when they come out for the air fest?
Martin Thomas: it is a day of … Well, it’ll be … The days are Saturday and Sunday. And it’s a day for the whole family. There’ll be all kinds of aerobatics. We got two shows a day. And performers doing loops and flips and all kinds of aerobatic maneuvers. We’ve got a kid zone. We’ve also got helicopter rides and aircraft rides available. And then, we’ll have a lot of vendors for food and drinks and that sort of thing.
Lyssa: great, great. Which is always important. And it’s a two day event. It’s this weekend, right?
Martin Thomas:that’s correct. Yes ma’am.
Lyssa: okay. And what’s the admission for people to come in?
Martin Thomas: well, if you purchase your ticket online, it’s $15.00 for an adult. And it’s, kids 10 and under are free.
Lyssa : okay.
Martin Thomas: so, if you purchase at the gate, it’ll be $20.00 at the gate.
Lyssa: okay.
Martin Thomas: and then, if you get a two day package, it’s $25.00 for both days.
Lyssa : so both days, they can get for $25.00? That’s awesome.
Martin Thomas: it is, isn’t?
Lyssa : that’s very affordable. Okay, so let’s talk about the airport too. This is a great looking airport. Wow! Right when I came in I was like … I even asked you I was like. “Is this like new blacktop that you have going on here?”
Martin Thomas:well, I’ll tell you this is a jewel. It’s the seventh largest airport in Kentucky. And, it is a great example of what a regional airport should be. And, it has grown from a 1,800 foot long grass strip that was behind the Burger King in Georgetown.
Lyssa: oh wow.
Martin Thomas: to what is today.
Lyssa: that’s fantastic. I love it. And, what’s the … I guess, as far as with the air fest. How many years have you been doing this, and is this the first year or is this …?
Martin Thomas: this is our fourth go-around.
Lyssa : okay.
Martin Thomas: we started in 2011. We did a 2013 event, a 2015 event. And this of course is our fourth.
Lyssa: yeah.
Martin Thomas: we’ve stretched it out a little bit because, we had a big paving project done here, which …
Lyssa : oh, okay. You weren’t lying on the beach just taking it easy or anything, right?
Martin Thomas:no, no, no. Not at all. Not at all. Wish I was but …
Lyssa: well, we have to go to commercial break guys.
Martin Thomas: okay, sure.
Lyssa:but we have so much more to talk about with the air fest and everything.
Martin Thomas:alright.
Lyssa: so, you don’t want to leave. Keep it right here. You are watching Good Day Kentucky.
