Kenny Brooks wins first ever Border Rivalry versus Tennessee, 82-58

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW)- 15 Kentucky never trailed in a demolition of 11 Tennessee at home on Thursday winning 82-58. The Wildcats led by as much as 35 in the second half. The win is UK’s largest margin of victory over Tennessee ever.

Clara Strack led the team in points with 23 and was one of four players in double figure scoring. Strack, Georgia Amoore, Teonni Key and Dazia Lawrence combined for 72 of UK’s 82 points. Amoore added a team-high seven assists.

UK shot well from close range with 46 points in the paint and 52% field goal shooting. The Cats outrebounded the Vols 52 to 31. Key and Strack pulled down 25 of those boards.

A few program records were reached by UK versus Tennessee. Strack set the new program record for blocks in a single season with 67 and the team as a whole set a new mark for blocks in a single season with 182.

Kentucky ends its regular season on the road in Columbia, South Carolina against the 6 Gamecocks on March 2 at 2 p.m.
