Boy shot in hunting accident in McCreary County

McCreary County, Ky. (WTVQ)- A little boy is doing okay after he got shot in a hunting accident in McCreary County.

A Fish and Wildlife captain says the seven-year-old was hunting with his grandpa.

The captain says the boy had a firearm hanging across his back.

It went off and sliced his back.

His grandfather drove him to the hospital in Somerset.

From there, he was flown to UK Medical Center.

Luckily, doctors were able to sew him up and he’s now doing well.

The Fish and Wildlife captain says the opening day of modern firearm season was a busy one.
