False alarm sends fire department to Lexington high school

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A false alarm on the campus of Henry Clay High School in Lexington prompted a brief visit from the Lexington Fire Department.

According to a notice sent to parents from principal Tony Blackman, firefighters spent about five minutes at the school, making sure it was secure, before leaving.

The notice said the fire department “confirmed everything was okay,” and that they were “back to normal.”

No word on what caused the false alarm to trigger.
