Madison County murder suspect due back in court
Suspect accused of Berea shooting faces preliminary hearing
MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – A suspect accused of shooting a man in the chest in Berea last week is scheduled to return to court Wednesday morning.
Steven Gerlaugh, 75, is charged with murder in the death of 42-year-old Thomas Rison. Police say Rison was shot in the chest while standing outside Gerlaugh’s car on Baldwin Street in Berea on February 3. Gerlaugh was later arrested in Garrard County.
During his arraignment last week, Gerlaugh pleaded not guilty, and a judge set his bond at $200,000.
Gerlaugh’s preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.
