Lexington sees rise in flu and covid-19 cases

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — Fayette County health officials say respiratory illnesses are still spreading throughout Lexington.

According to the health department, there were 168 flu cases and 51 lab-confirmed covid-19 cases during the week of January 18th.

Health officials say the recent report does not include results from at-home test kits.

Free flu shots and limited doses of the covid-19 vaccine are available for those who qualify at the public health clinic on Newtown Pike.
