Suspect charged with murder in Whitley County shooting death

WHITLEY COUNTY, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — A Whitley County man is facing a murder charge following a fatal shooting over the weekend.

According to the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department, 34-year-old John Lang was arrested on Saturday. Deputies allege Lang shot and killed 43-year-old Richard Willoughby inside a home in the Woodbine community.

Court records indicate Lang is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Monday.
