Richmond Police negotiators on scene of active standoff

Officers say a person is barricaded in an apartment

RICHMOND, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Richmond Police negotiators responded to an active standoff Wednesday night in the 300 block of McDougal Avenue off South Killarney.

According to a post on Facebook Wednesday around 10:30 p.m., an individual was barricaded in an apartment. According to police, tenants have been evacuated as a precaution until the situation is resolved. Other nearby tenants are encouraged to stay indoors while responders work.
