Suspect in Lexington murder case set for sentencing

Juan Linares faces sentencing for the 2022 killing of Michael Yocum

 

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — A man charged with murder is set to appear in court Thursday afternoon for sentencing.

Juan Linares was arrested and charged with murder following the death of Michael Yocum in March 2022.

Investigators say Yocum was shot to death inside a parking garage on West Short Street. Another man was severely beaten during the incident and was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

Linares was arrested along with brothers Humberto Saucedo-Salgado and Oziel Saucedo-Salgado, who were both charged with assault. Linares’ sentencing is scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday.
