UK wide receiver Dane Key is transferring

Frederick Douglass product has spent his entire college career up to this point in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW)- Kentucky football wide receiver Dane Key is entering the transfer portal after three seasons in his hometown of Lexington.

“I am incredibly grateful to the University of Kentucky for the opportunity to be a part of such an amazing program and community,” said Key in a social media statement. “The experiences, memories and relationships I’ve built here will always hold a special place in my heart.”

Key enters the portal with one year of playing time left at the college level. Although players can return to where they entered the portal from, his departure is a huge blow to the Wildcats.

The Frederick Douglass product led the team in receiving yards for the past two seasons. In 2024, Key scored two touchdowns and averaged a team high 59 receiving yards per game.
