Teen killed in Franklin County shooting; 14-year-old facing charges

UPDATE: ABC 36 News has learned a 14-year-old boy has been taken into custody in connection with the shooting.

Neither the names of the victim nor the suspect have been released.

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — A shooting early Sunday morning in Franklin County left one teenager dead, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident occurred around 1 a.m. at a home on Leathers Lane and involved two juveniles. Authorities confirmed that one teen died as a result of the shooting.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released. Investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
