First Lady Beshear to announce grant for early literacy

Event focuses on the impact of reading access on children's health and success

FRANKFORT, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — First Lady Britainy Beshear will announce a significant grant Monday aimed at supporting early childhood literacy in Kentucky.

Partnering with the Kentucky Association of Health Plans, the grant will benefit Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Kentucky, a program promoting early reading access.

The announcement will take place at 9:30 a.m. at the Paul Sawyier Public Library in Frankfort. The event highlights the importance of early literacy and its influence on children’s health and academic achievements.
