One dead after shooting on Versailles Rd in Lexington

One man has died following a shooting Sunday night in Lexington

UPDATE: The Fayette County Coroner identified the shooting victim as 44-year-old Quaynell King of Lexington.

The coroner says King died of a gunshot wound to his head.

Police continue to look for a suspect.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — One person is dead after a shooting on Versailles Road Sunday night.

The Lexington Police Department says officers responded to a shots-fired call in the 1800 block of Versailles Road around 8:45 p.m. Shortly after, police say a man arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound. He later died from his injuries.

Authorities have not released any details about a suspect. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Lexington Police Department or leave an anonymous tip through Bluegrass Crime Stoppers.
