Gov. Beshear declares ‘Crash Responder Safety Week’ in Kentucky

Drivers urged to slow down and move over for emergency personnel on the road

FRANKFORT, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — Governor Andy Beshear has proclaimed this week as “Crash Responder Safety Week” in Kentucky.

Governor Beshear highlighted the daily risks faced by emergency responders and public safety personnel who assist people in need on the road.

The governor is urging drivers to slow down and move over to help protect first responders.

State officials note that Kentucky’s “Slow Down, Move Over” law has recently been expanded to include a wider range of responders, such as tow truck drivers and other emergency vehicles.
