Man charged in deadly Lexington hit-and-run to appear in court

Suspect accused of fleeing scene after fatal moped crash

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – A man arrested in connection with a deadly hit-and-run crash in Lexington is set to appear in court Wednesday for an arraignment.

Police say 21-year-old Logan Rogers is charged with leaving the scene of an accident and failure to render aid.

Officers report that Rogers allegedly drove away after hitting a moped around 11 p.m. Monday on Richmond Road near Squires Road.

The Fayette County Coroner identified the victim as 47-year-old James Stamper, who was killed in the crash.

According to court records, Rogers’ arraignment is scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
